Mikey February’s connection to South Africa runs through the details of this collection, from the geometric artwork to the texture of the fabric itself.
Working alongside Mikey, Slowtide co-founder Wylie Von Tempsky hand-drew a series of geometric patterns inspired by the look of traditional bogolan mud cloth, bringing a contemporary perspective to a visual tradition with deep roots. The goal was to create something that felt connected to Mikey’s heritage while still distinctly his own.
Material was just as important as the print. A woven fouta-terry construction brings together the structure of a flat weave and the softness of terry, creating a substantial cotton feel designed for everyday use.
The result is a collection shaped by heritage, personal style, and a shared attention to the details that make a piece worth keeping.
