We had the opportunity to photograph our Holiday 2023 collection at an Eichler home this past year. Joseph Eichler was a prominent real estate developer known for his innovative and distinctive housing designs of mid-century modern architecture and quality design in the 1950s and 1960s. The collection was photographed in a small Eichler development called “The Thousand Oaks Tract” in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County which consists of around 150 Eichler designed homes.

Capturing this season’s new releases at an Eichler home offered several unique aspects for our Creative Director, Wylie Von Tempsky and photographer, Ryan Spencer. Although the home was built in the mid 1900s, the clean lines, modern design and timeless appeal complemented our image of modern design, emphasis on style and showcased our high quality elements of our products. The open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, post-and-beam construction and low-pitched roofs created a playground to embody the individual features of our towels and textiles.

One key factor we leaned into was how Eichler believed that modern architecture and quality design should be accessible to a broader range of people, this hopefully encourages our audience to envision how the product can fit seamlessly into their own living spaces from the aged to contemporary designed spaces they call home. With the focus Eichler had on natural light and indoor-outdoor connection, the home enhanced the colors and textures of the product and helped us evoke the versatility of our products with how items can be used both indoors and outdoors.
