Erin Barrett is the creative behind the sunny and bright fiber art and textile design brand, Sunwoven. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Erin on several occasions and are now pleased to share her beautiful home. Erin has worked hard on her 70’s ranch-style “fixer-upper” home and suffice it to say, we are impressed. We chatted with Erin a little bit about her colorful home.

Slowtide: How long have you called this space home?

Erin Barrett: In August of this year we will have been here in our home for 5 years!

S: What makes this space distinctly yours?

EB: When we saw this house and toured it for the first time we were immediately drawn to the layout. Being that both my husband and I needed at home workspaces, along with space for our family, we were looking for a very specific house. Having the one level ranch fits our family so perfectly. It’s our little oasis of a living and creative factory.

S: What inspires you about your home?

EB: The light that comes into this house is the most inspiring. Especially in the summer months looking out into our backyard when everything is lush, green and lovely.

S: How do you feel when you finally walk into your home at the end of a day?

EB: We spend the majority of our time in this home [these days] so it’s really important to us that it reflects who we are as a family and that it is a creatively inspiring space to spend our time.
