Born on the island of Pohnpei, Micronesia and raised in beautiful Mākaha, Hawaiʻi, Jae Belu is a full-time photographer and creative whose work is deeply inspired by nature, culture, and connection.
An entrepreneur his whole life, Jae started out shooting photos of his friends in high school before realizing photography was something he could truly pursue — and he’s never looked back since.
A career highlight for him was shooting HiLuxury Magazine with one of his closest friends, Kelia Moniz. Seeing the work come to life and his images shared in so many places reminded him why he creates: to inspire others and make art that people can feel.
Grounded by travel, culture, and time spent in nature, Jae draws inspiration from “mother earth” — using creativity as a way to bring beauty, grace, and joy into the busy world we live in.
One thing he constantly reminds himself is not to compare himself to other creators. While he admires the work of others, he believes having different styles and perspectives is what makes creating so beautiful.
“I just wanna acknowledge how grateful I am to GET to do what I do. I come from nothing, I was raised with nothing, and to be where I am now just proves you too can achieve anything you set your heart and mind to <3”
