Paradise Found with Dani Hobson
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Dani, and I’ve lived in California all my life. I've been into photography ever since I got my hands on a camera, and when I processed my first roll of film, I was hooked. I dove into learning how to process and develop film myself. There’s something special about creating a photograph with your own hands from start to finish. I love the nostalgia that comes with shooting on film; it forces me to slow down and appreciate each frame I take.
I grew up camping along the coastline and spending a lot of time outdoors. From the coast to the Sierras, through forests and deserts, I found beauty all around me, and I feel lucky to capture it through my lens.
I started my early career in the skate and surf industry, and my enthusiasm for creativity eventually led me to a full-time role as a photographer. It’s been a fun ride, and I've had the chance to meet some amazing people from all over the world.
I’ve always been a fan of double exposure photography. It’s fun and experimental every time. Outside of the photo studio, I love chasing my friends around with my camera. It’s truly the best capturing our outdoor adventures and the beauty of everyday life.
Now living in a city, I take time to appreciate the captivating landscape where city lights meet the beach. I take every opportunity to explore and enjoy this amazing playground we have on earth.
What is paradise to you?
To me, paradise is a feeling I find in the simple moments. My paradise is in the laughter of friends, the serenity of nature, and the mystery captured through the lens of my 35mm camera. It’s about finding those raw, unforgettable moments and realizing that paradise is wherever you choose to see it.
Type of camera used:
