Tucked into a tree lined neighborhood, just outside of Los Angeles, Sarah and Steve have built a life centered around adventure, community, and meaningful connection.

As founders of Darling Media and Wilderness Collective, the husband and wife duo have each created brands that bring people together in their own unique way. Fourteen years ago, Steve launched Wilderness Collective with the idea of making once in a lifetime adventures more accessible. What began as a passion project has grown into a thriving community built around off road motorcycle and overland expeditions to destinations like Baja, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon.

Sarah founded Darling Media shortly after college after recognizing a need for more authentic representation of women in media. As the first magazine to commit to never photoshopping its subjects, Darling challenged industry norms by celebrating women of all sizes and backgrounds while focusing on character, purpose, and personal growth over appearance. What began as a magazine has since evolved into a thriving community, hosting events, gatherings, and conversations that foster deeper connection and belonging.

Together, Sarah and Steve have built lives and businesses centered around bringing people together. Whether around a dinner table, on a remote trail, or within the communities they've thoughtfully cultivated. We spent the day with them in their Los Angeles home to learn more about the people behind the brands, the spaces that inspire them, and the rituals that make a house feel like home.
